One afternoon in the winter of 92 I walked into Wheel Power and this bike was on sale. Needless to say, I was smitten. I consider it the bike that really introduced me to cycling, and over the next four years it slowly was upgraded and produced a number of firsts: first suspension fork (Manitou 3), first clipless pedals (SPD), first race (Temple Mountain). Surprisingly, it also survived my first girlfriend and first car. It was on this bike that Drew first introduced me to Mark, Greg and Josh, and the “Durham Locals” really took shape.
